Acting on our mission of helping people unlock and achieve their dreams, Youth To The People (YTTP) has been a proud supporter of the Downtown Women’s Center (DWC). Located just near Skid Row and to date the only organization operating in Los Angeles that exclusively assists women experiencing homelessness and the formerly unhoused, DWC continues to be a critical source of safe and compassionate community resourcing. DWC also provides support for trans women experiencing homelessness as part of their dedicated Trauma Informed Care programming.
This upcoming #GivingTuesday we are excited to announce that YTTP has partnered with Beyond Yoga, a female-founded and led activewear company, to support raising awareness and funds for the DWC. Giving Tuesday, also known as the “Global Day of Giving” is an annual generosity movement that is aimed at driving forces for good through the power of both giving and volunteerism to advance transformative impact in communities around the world. During #GivingTuesday, which takes place on Tuesday, November 28th, along with Beyond Yoga, we will be matching donations dollar for dollar up to $50,000.
Women experiencing homelessness are one of LA's most vulnerable populations and through donations collected throughout the year and over the holiday season, DWC will continue to provide affordable housing assistance, employment, healthcare and stability support.
