How to Get Rid of Dark Spots

We all dread the signs of a new blemish, not least of all because of the aftermath, the dark spots that appear after the spot has started to heal. Dark spots come from other sources, too, including sun exposure and changing hormones. SPF is key for protecting our skin from UV damage and the potential dark spots that come with it, but sometimes we need extra help getting rid of dark spots. SPF protection is foremost—but when it comes to getting rid of dark spots, brightening ingredients are key.

Formulas containing vitamin C, niacinamide, or alpha hydroxy acids will help to brighten the skin. Alpha hydroxy acids, or AHAs, are chemical exfoliants that help to break up dead skin cells. Once this layer of dead skin cells has been swept away, ingredients like vitamin C can get to work more effectively to brighten the appearance of skin. 

To get the most out of brightening, pairing a power duo will work wonders, like the Kombucha  + 11% AHA Exfoliation Power Toner and the Superberry Hydrate + Glow Dream Mask.
