The Pro: Tyler Hysko
The Place: Social media
While you’d never know it perusing through his social media, Tyler Hysko struggled with chronic cystic acne growing up, which is what ultimately sparked his interest in skincare.
“I suffered from cystic acne from middle school until my 20s,” says Tyler. “It seemed as if every day I would wake up with a new breakout and it made me feel extremely self-conscious to the point where I was hyper-fixated on looking at myself in the mirror, hoping I wouldn’t have any new breakouts forming,” he says.
As he got older, Tyler started experimenting with skincare and taking the time to really learn about how the skin and different ingredients work. “I had tried so many treatments like aloe and apple cider vinegar, which only made my skin worse, so eventually I went to esthetician school and got my license.” The rest is history.
Since then, Tyler has furthered his knowledge by taking classes on chemical peels, microneedling, and more.
“My acne journey and transforming my skin by myself made me realize my passion and how much I want to help others like me,” he says.
No surprise here: Tyler’s favorite part of being an esthetician is getting to help others with their skin concerns.
“I remember how insecure my acne made me feel and honestly sometimes that feeling comes back to me,” he says. “Skincare can be confusing, but it doesn’t have to be. I love teaching others in a simple yet fun way.”
Tyler does this via his different social media accounts, including Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube, where he shares engaging and insightful content that’s super easy to understand. On his platforms, you’ll find everything from in-depth product reviews to ingredient explainers and so much more.
Tyler has been a long-time fan and user of Youth To The People products and ended up connecting with the team around a year ago when he took a trip to Los Angeles with a fellow content creator.
“Since then, I stayed in contact with them, which resulted in this amazing partnership,” he says.
Now that you’re up to snuff on how Tyler’s started a career in skincare and wound up as one of YTTP’s amazing Pros, keep reading for more fun facts—including his favorite YTTP product and his tried-and-true skincare philosophy.

His skin inspiration: “My skin inspiration is other people in the industry such as content creators, dermatologists, other estheticians, etc. I have looked up to all these types of people in the industry for years, which gave me the inspiration to pursue a career in the industry! I am so grateful to say I am now friends with some people I have followed for years; it’s truly a surreal experience.”
