Washing your face before bed is arguably the most important skincare decision of your day. During the night, your skin’s metabolic rate increases, quickening the skin cell turnover process. This boost in new skin cell production means that beauty sleep is real, making it even more important that you cleanse thoroughly before you go to bed. After a long day, it’s understandable to want to fast-forward through your nightly routine to hit the pillows—but you should never have to make a choice between sleep and your skincare routine. The newest addition to the Superberry Dream lineup is the Superberry Dream Cleansing Balm, a rich and effective cleansing balm that melts away makeup and sunscreen in a flash, giving you a clean slate for your dream state.
The Superberry Dream Cleansing Balm uses triple-phase technology, transforming from balm to oil to emulsified milk, all by the natural heat of your hands. Ideally applied on dry skin, the balm’s velvety whipped texture quickly turns to a soothing oil once massaged into the skin.
While massaging in circular motions, you can watch the triple-phase technology activate, breaking down pore-clogging oils, makeup, SPF, and other impurities right before your eyes.
“You don't want to rush, because you [should] wait for almost a feeling and a visual transformation to happen,” says Laura Cline, YTTP’s Senior Director of Product Development + Education. “[Try] a minimum of 15 seconds. You want to be able to really get in there, and let it dissolve into an oil completely. Then, once it dissolves into an oil, you can add a very small amount of water, massage the oil until it turns into a milk completely, and then add water [again] to rinse.”
The Dream Balm can be used as the first step of a double cleanse along with the Superfood Cleanser (try the Dream Balm first, then follow up with the Superfood Cleanser), but the Dream Balm is enough of a workhorse to stand on its own. The Superberry Dream Cleansing Balm’s formula is expertly packed with ingredients that bind to makeup and SPF for effective removal as well as ingredients that deeply hydrate and moisturize, ensuring clean and calm skin.
YTTP’s antioxidant-rich Superberry Blend includes goji, maqui, and acai, which combat free radicals and reduce the look of oxidative stress. YTTP’s Dream Oil blend features a powerful trio of moringa, sunflower, and jojoba oils that break down grime while conditioning and softening the skin. Prickly pear cactus elixir soothes the skin while improving hydration, and oil-soluble hyaluronic acid (which includes 3 molecular weights of HA) reaches multiple layers of the skin to deeply hydrate—long after rinsing. No greasy film. No residue. Just weightless, lasting hydration for soft, plump, skin.
The formula contains omegas 3, 6, 9, and 12, as well as vitamin E, and according to Cline, “They help with keeping your moisture barrier really intact and hydrated. The oils are hydrating the skin and these other ingredients are conditioning and nourishing it.”
The balm’s formulation is gentle enough for use around the eyes, and potent enough to properly wash away stubborn, longwear eye makeup. And according to Cline, the balm is flexible enough to benefit all skin types.
“I think sometimes people who are oilier might be hesitant to use something that's transformative, like balm-to-oil cleanser,” says Cline, “But it's actually great for someone who's oily because it will help deeply cleanse the pores. Really any skin type [can use it]: dry, combo, oily, sensitive, you name it.”
The Superberry Dream Cleansing Balm nourishes, soothes, and creates a clean slate on the skin for well-deserved rest. It also offers overnight transformation, for both the skin and your routine.
“I want to have a good experience at night because I’m tired!” says Cline. “The main thing you hear from customers is that you're tired, you don't want to do a nighttime routine. People like to keep it simple and streamlined at night. The idea [with the balm] was to create something that was a really fun experience, a sensorial experience, so that it would encourage you to want to take care of your skin at night.”
