After investing your hard-earned money on a new skincare product, you’ll be happy to learn that there are often multiple ~off-label~ uses for the YTTP products you already know and love. To help you get the most out of your skincare arsenal, we’ve rounded up some of our favorite off-label uses for the Youth To The People product lineup, including four alternate ways (and counting!) to apply our Superberry Hydrate + Glow Oil, plus some brilliant DIY ideas for your empty glass jars. Below, find eight good-to-know product hacks for your favorite YTTP masks, moisturizers, and more.
Use Adaptogen Deep Moisture Cream on healing tattoos
The healing process after getting a new tattoo
often takes weeks, and one of the most important ways to ensure that your new ink stays healthy is to moisturize
it multiple times a day. To do so, you’ll want to use a super hydrating, calming moisturizer that’s naturally
derived and doesn’t contain any potential irritants (such as added fragrance, parabens, or phthalates)—which is
where our beloved Adaptogen Deep Moisture
Cream comes in. In addition to all of the above, it also contains ashwagandha, a powerful,
antioxidant-rich herb that promotes healing. Apply it onto your new tattoo a few times daily, including right
after you hop out of the shower. Pro tip: to keep your ink looking its best, continue to moisturize your tattoos
regularly, even long after they’ve fully healed.
Use Superberry Hydrate + Glow Oil to add a natural-looking highlight on top of makeup
Simply add a
few drops of our antioxidant-rich Superberry Hydrate + Glow
Oil into your foundation, tinted moisturizer or highlighter face makeup for an added boost
of glow. Formulated with prickly pear, hydrating squalane, omega fatty acids, and high levels of vitamin C, when
added to your favorite face makeup, this does-it-all face oil will help keep your complexion looking dewy (and
not cakey) all day long.
Use our Power Duo on dry hands and elbows
The deeply-hydrating (and
Allure award-winning) Superberry Hydrate + Glow Dream Mask isn’t just for your
face—especially since a little bit goes such a long way. During the colder months of the year, keep dry hands
and flakey elbows at bay with a bit of the Superberry Hydrate
+ Glow Dream Mask, applying it right before bed just as you normally would. For extra
parched elbows, exfoliate first with the Kombucha +11% AHA Exfoliation
Power Toner before applying the Dream Mask.
Use Superberry Hydrate + Glow Oil to keep cuticles healthy
Another use for our Superberry Hydrate +
Glow Oil: cuticle care. Formulated with extra-nourishing ingredients, this face oil can also help to keep your
cuticles moisturized and healthy. Pro tip: after you get out of the shower is a prime time to gently push back your
cuticles, massaging a bit of oil onto each.
Use Superberry Hydrate + Glow Dream Mask as a pre-shave treatment
Know you’re going to be shaving
your face tomorrow morning? Apply the Superberry Hydrate + Glow Dream Mask overnight tonight to help keep your
complexion soft and hydrated, thus ensuring a smoother, more even shave come morning.
Use Superberry Hydrate + Glow Oil to keep facial hair hydrated and healthy
Yet another use for this
multi-purpose facial oil: your facial hair. Apply it onto your beard or mustache to help keep both your facial hair,
and the skin underneath, moisturized and free of irritation. Or, swipe some onto your eyebrows and brush them into
place to shape and boost shine.
Use Superfood Skin Reset Mask as a spot treatment
Battling a breakout? Use the Superfood Skin Reset Mask as an
overnight or pre-outing spot treatment, applying it solely onto problem areas or pimples.
DIY your empties
Finish a jar of your favorite YTTP product? Before recycling, consider repurposing
the glass container. After scraping out the last bit of product, rinse it out and use it in your medicine
cabinet to hold cotton swabs, nail scissors, or small makeup brushes. Or, fill it with a bit of dirt or small
rocks and use it as a planter for small succulents on your desk or windowsill. Yet another use: a DIY candle
holder for small tea candles. If you’d rather also keep the lid, use your empty glass jar as storage for small,
otherwise hard to store items, such as safety pins, bobby pins or small earrings. The uses are endless, so get
creative!
