On MLK Day, an Opportunity to Check In

16 Jan 2023

Today is Martin Luther King Day, a day of service, a day of reflection, and a day of action; it’s an opportunity to carry forward the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. As we celebrate his impact, it’s important to acknowledging the full history of the day as well as the struggle that Black people STILL face in our country. Yes, today is a day off for many people, but it’s not a day to check out. Instead, we invite you to check in, seek education, and activate change.

To help you get started, read on the roles of peaceful protest and white violence in the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. here, written by Denne Michele Norris.
