A Pride Edition Good To The People funds update featuring the National Center for Transgender Equality and GLSEN.
We love meeting organizations busting barriers and courageously building a just future and a livable planet. We give to organizations all year long that support diverse youth and programs that secure the human rights of vulnerable communities, but it is with extra PRIDE that we’ve made our June donations.
In June, our Good To The People Funds awarded $100,000 in monetary donations across two nonprofit organizations we think you might love as much as we do. Read on to learn about them.
National Center for Transgender Equality
The National Center for Transgender Equality advocates for changing policies and society in the United States to increase understanding and acceptance of transgender people. In the nation’s capital and throughout the country, NCTE works to replace disrespect, discrimination, and violence with empathy, opportunity, and justice.
GLSEN
(pronounced “glisten”)
GLSEN was born from a spark, an idea, an action. That spark became the first GSA (Gender-Sexuality Alliances, also known as Gay-Straight Alliances), an alliance of understanding, support, and safety between a teacher and a student who felt different and targeted. For over 30 years, with a network of 1.5 million students, families, educators, and education advocates, GLSEN works to help make school schools safer for LGBTQ+ youth and sets the course for a safer, more equitable future.
Thank you for helping us make an impact!
