Youth To The People consistently strives to push the boundaries of innovation and sustainability with each new product release, and the Polypeptide-121 Future Cream is their most advanced offering yet. This groundbreaking moisture cream stands out as a pioneer in YTTP’s lineup, both in terms of its unique formula and its eco-friendly packaging.
The star ingredient, polypeptide-121, is a vegan polypeptide chain that includes over 180 amino acids. It is sustainably bio-engineered in California, utilizing significantly less land, water, and time than traditional animal-derived collagen. When combined with ceramides, tetrapeptides, and plant proteins in the Future Cream, polypeptide-121 helps to intensely hydrate the skin, visibly firm it, diminish fine lines and wrinkles, and fortify the skin’s moisture barrier.
The packaging of the Future Cream also reflects YTTP’s commitment to sustainability. Glass remains a staple in YTTP’s packaging materials, but the brand has also set ambitious goals for its plastic components. Last year, YTTP aimed to ensure that any plastic packaging, such as pumps and lids, would be made from at least 70% post-consumer recycled (PCR) plastic by the end of 2022.
“PCR means that we’re using plastic content that has been used before. We recycle and repurpose them for our lids, helping to avoid adding new plastic into the waste stream,” explains Amanda Meyer, YTTP’s Packaging Development Project Manager. “We’re actively working on converting all of our lids into PCR material. The Future Cream is the first product to launch with a PCR lid.”
YTTP is in the process of transitioning all of its product lids to be made from 95% PCR plastic. Meyer notes that by the end of 2022, 57% of all YTTP products will have switched to packaging with PCR lids.
“We don’t want to add unnecessary waste into the world, so we’re continuing to use up the virgin plastic we have on hand and phasing into PCR as soon as we run out of the virgin plastic lids,” Meyer adds. “You can expect to gradually see PCR lids added to some of your favorite existing YTTP products very soon!”
