3 words to describe the holiday season
Cultured, family oriented, loud During the long walk with my family, we talk about everything and anything. The simple joy of being with them and connecting while we walk is something I’ll always cherish and look forward to. The jar of notes and receipts my husband and I collect throughout the year is so special. We sit down and go through each note or receipt and relive what we did during that time.
What are your favorite traditions?
I’m full Salvadoran, so my side of the family celebrates Christmas Eve, and we open presents at midnight. My husband is Caucasian so we celebrate his side Christmas Day and his dad always makes amazing tamales. Both sides of the families coming together is so special to bridge both cultures; it really is special to me and now we have our son, Carter to celebrate/experience it with us too!
Your wishes for the YTTP community this season
I am new to YTTP as of August, and the culture and team dynamic is so special. My hope is to continue to immerse myself into the culture and brand in the next year and I can’t wait to see the growth 2023 has in store for us + the brand.

Tamales, music, laughter
What are your favorite traditions?
The food is the best part! We usually go potluck style everyone brings a dish—traditionally we always have tamales and Pozole; the vegan options of tamales and pozole are delicious! Family and friends are really important, and the holidays are the best time to get together.
Food has always been meaningful to me because it brings people together. This is something I learned from my mother and both grandmas. Food unites and the holidays are more of a reason to celebrate love and togetherness. For us (my husband, daughter, and I) It has always been about cooking a favorite meal or learning something new to try. (This year I will attempt making tamales on my own).
Music is always involved; my husband whips out the guitar and our daughter who is now 14 years old accompanies by playing her guitar and singing along. We haven't always been able to get together with the [extended] family during the holidays. And I will say that my favorite traditions are the ones we have created on our own, just the three of us. We had pizza and wine (soda for the kid) on Christmas Eve once, and that was one of my favorite holiday memories. It was the most meaningful because it was just the three of us—I was missing some ingredients on what I was about to cook, and we just decided it was pizza night. So great!

3 words to describe the holiday season
Tight-knit, relaxation, reflection
What are your favorite traditions?
My entire life every Christmas morning my family eats Eggs Benedict (there’s really no significance to that meal except for the fact that it’s really good lol) and another tradition is watching the movie Home Alone a minimum of 10 times during the entire holiday season. I really value the importance of shared meals, together and unplugged. That’s when some of the most meaningful conversations take place and b memories are made, especially during the holidays.
Your wishes for the YTTP community this season
To the YTTP community, I wish you a season of joy and positivity. Take care of yourself, tell your people you love them, and reflect on the year and give yourself a pat on the back for making it this far.

3 words to describe the holiday season
Magical, happy, fun.
What are your favorite traditions?
I have so many favorite traditions, from putting up 6+ Christmas trees, in our home, to lasagna on Christmas Eve, to opening a gift each night for the 12 days of Christmas, but the one that stands out as the favorite is having my daughter chose a theme/color each year for our decorations. We change the decor to fit the theme every year. The hardest year was the color orange—ot a whole lot of orange Christmas decor out there! This year, we chose pink, and the theme is Sugar Plum Fairy. We wrap all the gifts accordingly and make new ornaments to go along. My favorite year was probably Tropical!
This tradition started by accident but it adds extra excitement to the festivities and brings us together as a family while we create new decorations. It’s also a tradition that came along when our daughter came into our lives. And for me, holidays with a kid are the MOST magical.

Relaxing, cozy, rebalancing.
What are your favorite traditions?
My favorite tradition is Making pasteles with my entire family during the holiday season. We each take on a specific role and make hundreds of them to later disburse to each household. It is a beautiful way to celebrate our heritage while coming together as a family. This year I will not be with my family in person, but I will be continuing the tradition regardless.
Your wishes for the YTTP community this season
I wish the YTTP community a happy and healthy holiday season, and to allow yourself the time and space you need to reset for the new year.
