What the C Means in Peptides + C Energy Eye Concentrate

09 Mar 2023

Youth To The People’s new Peptides + C Energy Eye Concentrate has made its entrance, and its radiant influence is making waves in the collective eye area. Part of YTTP’s Energy family, a winning trifecta of formulas designed to immediately rejuvenate , hydrate, and smooth, this gentle yet potent gel-slash-serum complements its siblings while standing out for an innovative slew of ingredients–many of which are making their YTTP debut.

Among those listed for the first time, you’ll find a red seaweed extract rich in taurine, yuzu oil, planet- + people-friendly synthetic mica , and an effective form of vitamin C that goes by the name of vitamin CG, or ascorbyl glucoside. Water-soluble and exceptionally stable, vitamin CG is match-made for the delicate skin around the eyes, explains YTTP’s AVP of Product Development, Laura Cline:

“Eye products require super efficacious ingredients that are gentle, and vitamin CG a gente form of vitamin C, making it a great option for all skin types and the thin skin around our eyes which is more prone to external aggressors and sensitivity.”

Vitamin CG packs a serious punch when it comes to benefits. Think of an army of antioxidants working together in formation to scavenge free radicals and help improve the look of dark circles and dullness. In addition, vitamin CG has a plumping effect. Once applied, it is converted into L-ascorbic acid, which is known to hydrate the skin, thus smoothing the look of fine lines.

“You’ll find YTTP’s pro-grade vitamin C complex (which combines ethyl ascorbic acid, tetrahexyldecyl ascorbate (THD ascorbate), and magnesium ascorbyl phosphate) in the Vitamin C + Caffeine Energy Serum, but we specifically wanted vitamin CG in the Eye Concentrate to enhance the formula’s efficacy. Just like the serum, though, the texture of this product is quickly absorbed, non-greasy, and layers really nicely under sunscreen and makeup.”

The other meaning of ‘C’ in the Peptides + C Energy Eye Concentrate is caffeine, which in this instance is sourced from a supertea blend containing extracts from yerba mate and guayusa.

Says Laura of the formula, “It has a depuffing effect, which helps keep eyes looking refreshed and awake.”
